Gary Lee Kocur

Gary Lee Kocur Saginaw, Michigan Our loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, age 67 years. He was born on June 23, 1949, son of the late Stephen L. and Arlene P. (Nichols) Kocur, in Owosso. Gary married Vicki LaValey on August 22, 1970, she survives him. He retired from the Saginaw Steering Gear Plant 2 after 28.9 years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #699. He enjoyed working on Mopar projects and racing cars with his son Jeff, going on extended drives with his family, bird watching, playing with his dogs, he was an avid card player and trips to the casino. Gary enjoyed playing Santa, had a great sense of humor and loved by everyone. Besides Vicki his loving wife of 46 years, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Cindy) Kocur and Rene Ziembo; his grandson, Tyler Ziembo; his son-in-law, Don Ziembo, his sister, Janice (Dennis) Sack of Elk River, MN; his special aunts, Phyllis Hoseit and Shirley (Junior) Louchart; his mother-in-law, Laura LaValey; also many other relatives and friends, including his very special friends, Jim (Karen) Martin, Don Clark and Charlie McKillop. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Marvin LaValey and his brother-in-law, Douglas LaValey. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Fr. Dave Parsch, Crissy and the staff of Compassus Hospice, Lynn and the staff at Brittany Manor, Marissa, Jenna, Vicky, Jack and CNA's Nichole, Alyssa, Samantha, Cameron and Tyler. Memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at W. L. Case and Company. 201 N. Miller Road. Fr. Dave Parsch will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may consider the wishes of the family.
