Evelyn Lois Jeanette Ryder
Passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Brian's House, Essexville. Age 94 years.
The daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Guetchow) Winterstein was born January 4, 1927 in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Saginaw High School. She married Jack Alan Ryder, August 18, 1957. He passed away November 11, 2014. Evelyn was employed as a secretary with the Department of Agriculture and Consumers Energy before working as a cook for Michigan Lutheran Seminary for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and Women Serving Christ. Evelyn was a former representative of Fuller Brush, then of Avon selling cosmetics. She enjoyed gardening, her card club, and she loved riding her bike.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Paul and Sandy Ryder of Deltona, FL, Lyle and Bonnie Ryder, and Mark and Trudy Ryder, all of Saginaw; a daughter and her husband, Carol and Marvin Good, of Saginaw; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Eunice Peterson; several nieces and nephews. Her infant son: Clark Ryder; three brothers, one sister, Herbert, Bill, Mildred and Edgar Winterstein, a brother-in-law, Dale Peterson and a sister-in-law, Lucille Winterstein have predeceased her.
The funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1020 Court St. at Bond. Rev. David Naumann will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, indoor capacity is limited to 25 persons, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged. We appreciate everyone's efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
