Ethel Irene Clark Mio, Michigan Formerly of Merrill, Michigan Passed away Friday, February 7, 2020, at the Masonic Pathways, Alma, Michigan. Age 99 years. The daughter of the late Myrtie (Howard) and William Blumerich was born December 20, 1920 in Romeo, Michigan. She grew up in Capac, Michigan and graduated from Capac High School, Class of 1939, where she was an outstanding athlete, involved in 4H and showed Jersey Cattle. She married Richard D. Clark, January 25, 1947. Her husband of 73 years survives her. She was employed by Michigan Metals and was a member of Merrill Congregational Church. She served on the Merrill Library Board. She was an avid supporter of Michigan State University sports, the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Pistons and Red Wings. She loved to fish, travel, play cards and horseshoes. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Surviving besides her husband, Richard, are a daughter, two sons and their spouses, Karen and Joseph Tomasek, Hemlock, MI; Keith and Carol Clark; Randy and Kathy Clark, all of Merrill, MI. Nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, three brothers, Homer, Kenneth and Nelson Blumerich and a sister, Helen Mallwitz have predeceased her. In accordance with Ethels wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Merrill Congregational Church. Rev. Richard Gossett will officiate. Friends may visit with family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
