Our loving mother went home to be with the Lord, peacefully, in the comfort of her home with her family at her side Sunday, September 6, 2020. At the age of 81 years. Emma Flores was born on January 1, 1939 in Cuero, Texas to the late Abraham and Luz (Garcia) Flores. She married her sweetheart, Apolinar Gomez on June 19, 1954; they shared 64 wonderful years together. He preceded Emma in death on March 10, 2019. Emma followed her husband Apolinar in serving the Lord within the Apostolic Church. She was a child caregiver for many years. Emma enjoyed praying, sewing and cooking. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her loving family.

Surviving are four daughters and a son, Lucia (Juan) Cavazos; Maria (Philip) Kent; Josepha Gomez; John Gomez; and Tammy (Paul) Chernow; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother, Geronimo (SeQuana) Flores. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Emma was preceded in death by three sons, Alex Gomez, Marcos Gomez, Apolinar Gomez Jr., three sisters and three brothers.

A private family committal service has taken place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel.
