Hasse, Elsie M. Saginaw, Michigan The Lord gently closed Elsies weary eyes on Friday, July 14, 2017. Elsie passed away at Covenant - Cooper, at the age of 83 years. Elsie Marie Schmitt was born May 3, 1934 in Rose City, the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Albrecht) Schmitt. She graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1954. Elsie married Martin E. Hasse on June 25, 1955; he predeceased her May 20, 2002. She volunteered at St. Lukes Hospital for many years and later retired from K-Mart Corporation. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and later enjoyed playing Euchre and Bingo. Surviving are two daughters, one son, and their spouses, Cathy and Joseph Obuchowski, New Port Richey, Florida; Martin Hasse Jr. and his wife Lynn, Saginaw; Tammy and Thomas Lewandowski, Lakeport, Michigan; six grandchildren, Patrick Obuchowski, Jeffrey (Tanya) Obuchowski, Amber Obuchowski, Amanda (Ben) Fordos, Ryan Hasse, and Thomas Martin Lewandowski; eight great-grandchildren, Christian, Desiree, Dakota, Damian, Emma, Amelia, Brayden and Beckett; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hasse; a sister-in-law, Cleo Mielke; several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Susanna Emery and Helen Colbert. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. Rev.
