Eleanor V. Kunik Smith

Eleanor V. Kunik Smith Maple City, MI formerly of Burt, MI Passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the age of 97 years. Eleanor was born on June 6, 1922 in Saginaw to the late Wm. Jones and Ethel Lawhead-Jones She married: John Kunik; he predeceased her on October 7, 1955. Eleanor later married Vivion Smith; he also predeceased her on January 15, 1987. Eleanor enjoyed crocheting, collecting Betty Boop dolls, stuffed animals, traveling and cherished time spent with her family and going out to eat. Strawberry milkshakes were her favorite treat. Surviving are her children: Frederick Kunik, Rosemary (Ted) Allen-Specht, daughter-in-law Susan Kunik, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sisters: Jean (Tom) Miller, Doris (Richard) Schulz, and Jeanette (Gerald) Hafner. Besides her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her children: Stephanie Myers, John Kunik, and Vivion Smith, and her brother and sisters: Edna Williams, Goldie Muse, Frederick Jones, and Katheryn (Robert) Hitzeman. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Albee Twp. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at the funeral chapel from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with rosary beginning at 7:00 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
