Elaine Lois Fries

Gained her wings and went to Heaven on December 13, 2021 at the age of 81 years.
The daughter of the late Lois Gary and David W. Rapphun was born on April 3, 1940 in Saginaw. She married James Fries in 1958; he predeceased her in 1998. Elaine was a member of Community Baptist Church. She loved to travel, especially to California. Elaine’s greatest joy was her family, and she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them participate in sports.
Surviving are her children: James Fries, Robert (Linda) Fries, Karen (Bill) Fiting, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her sister Beverly Schoenlein, her brothers Ron Rapphun and David (Paula) Rapphun, her good friends Denise Miller of California, and Paula Brenner and Doris Hatfield of Saginaw and many nieces, nephew, relatives, and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Michael Cook, son-in-law Mike Cook, and two sisters: Mary Napora and Lois Ann (Jim) McNalley.
Memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. January 22, 2022 at Community Baptist Church, 8331 Gratiot Rd., Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. Dr. Douglas R. Jackson will officiate.
