Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on April 18, 2020 at the age of 100 years.
The daughter of the late Clarence Hugo Dietzel and Ina Belle (Detwiller) Dietzel, was born on August 19, 1919 in Saginaw, MI. She graduated from Aurther Hill High School, the class of 1937. Dorothy Jean Helwer married Robert J Nixon Sr.; he predeceased her. She then married Edwin Helwer; he also predeceased her. She was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are children: Jane Sullivan and John Nixon, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and four nieces.
Due to the worldwide health pandemic, a private family funeral will take place at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Daniel Garbow will officiate.
