Doris Ellen Tessin

Beloved Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt went home to be with her Lord, Thursday January 18, 2018, at the age of 91 years. She was born March 27, 1926, the daughter of the late Edward E. and Ethel (Blakeslee) Potter. Doris married Robert C. Tessin August 18, 1945. Robert predeceased her November 17, 2007. Doris was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hemlock and Mary Martha. She was an avid quilter with the St. Peter World Relief Missions. God gave Doris the gift of hospitality, everyone who entered her home felt loved and welcomed. She enjoyed Saturday morning coffee with family and friends over the last 35 years. Surviving are four sons, one daughter, and their spouses, Barry R. and Karla Tessin, Stephen C. Tessin, Dean A. and Karen Tessin, Joel C. and Mary Tessin, and Jan C. Tessin; five grandchildren and their spouses, Karrie and Paul Jarosz, Brian and Michele Tessin, Melissa and Jason LaJoice, Katrina and Keith Dailey and Nicholas and Jennifer Tessin; 12 great-grandchildren; her nephew Scott and Debbie Wylie. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday January 22, 2018, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 Raucholz Road, Hemlock. Rev. Dr. William Morris will officiate with burial in Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday and then at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
