Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Union Court Assisted Living, with her family at her side. Age 96 years.

The daughter of the late Archie and Thelma (Tyler) Newcomb, Dora was born on August 26, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married James McQuiston in October 1940, he predeceased her on April 17, 1951. She later married Richard H. Moore on January 21, 1955; he preceded her in death on February 9, 1998. Dora was a long-time member of State Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting, especially ceramics and landscapes. Above all, Dora cherished the time spent with her loving family.

Surviving are three sons and their wives: Pat and Karen McQuiston, Saginaw; Jim and Diane McQuiston, Hemlock; Randy and Diana McQuiston, Whittemore; one daughter-in-law: Janice Moore; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother: Archie Newcomb. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Dora was preceded in death by two sons: Tom Moore; Lester (Jackie) McQuiston; three grandsons; three sisters; two brothers.

The family would wish to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Union Court Assisted Living and First Hospice; especially Kelly, Shanna and Daisy for their kind and compassionate care of Dora.

A Committal Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Cook Cemetery, 13000 Seymour Road, Burt. Chaplain Shanna Hensley will officiate. Pursuant to the current state executive order, face covers are required, and social distancing is encouraged. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community.
