Dolores Stine

Beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Community Village. She was 93 years old. Dolores Irene Slack was born on June 6, 1925 in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Frank and Helen (Gornowicz) Slack. She was a graduate of Bay City Central High School. Following graduation, Dolores attended business school and received a certificate in stenography. She married the love of her life, Grover "Bud" Stine, on September 30, 1950; he preceded her in death on December 3, 2006. She was a charter member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW post #9809. Dolores participated in the many group activities sponsored by the various organizations her husband belonged. She and Bud also owned and operated Chisholms Town & Country Flower Shop for 18 years. Dolores was a den mother with the Boy Scouts of America and a Girl Scout leader. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed Bingo, and regularly beat family and friends at cards. Dolores and Bud enjoyed trips throughout the state and later trips with her son, Paul, to Soaring Eagle casino. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Community Village for all the love and care they provided for Dolores. Surviving are two sons, a daughter, and a son-in-law: Glenn G. Stine of North Carolina; Christine and her husband, Tom Winkler of Saginaw; Paul John Stine of Saginaw; two beloved granddaughters: Sarah Stine and Diane Winkler; and a former daughter-in-law, Rhonda Klein of Mt. Clemens. A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Kenneth R. Streeter will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Honoring the familys wishes, a private visitation was held and entombment took place at Oakwood mausoleum.
