David W. Allen

David W. Allen Thomas Township, Michigan Loving husband and father went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the age of 73 years. David was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 16, 1944 to the late Ernest F. and Mildred M. (Briggs) Allen. He was a graduate of Hemlock High School, Class of 1962. Dave met Barb Moore and they were married on April 3, 1969. She survives him. Dave retired from General Motors with 36 years of service. Dave and Barb did everything together and spent their winters in Florida. They loved to travel and spend time with their family, friends and dogs. Dave was always the first person to help everyone out. Surviving besides his wife, Barbara, are two children, Jacalyn Allen-Deyarmond; David D. Allen and Helen Mielke; his brothers and sisters, James (Eunice) Allen; George (Naomi) Allen; Patricia (Ernest) Kelly; Millie Otter; several loving nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Jack Moore, mother-in-law, Thelma Moore, his siblings, Edith Allen, Helen Kingry, Howard L. Allen, Edna McFadden and Ernest W. Allen. The funeral service to celebrate Daves life will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Daves nephew, Rev. Michael Kelley will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the chapel from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
