Rummel, David Lyle Saginaw, Michigan Went to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 18, 2016, at the age of 73 years. David was born April 25, 1942, in Frankenmuth, to the late Herbert F. Rummel and Lorna (Weiss) Rummel Hildner. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth. He graduated from Frankenmuth High School with the Class of 1960. He married Joann (Robishaw) Thorsen on September 14, 1996; she survives him. He had been employed in retail for many years. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Saginaw. Surviving besides his wife Joann, are his daughter, Renee (Chris) Wood, and two granddaughters, Izabella and Natasha Wood, all of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; his sister, Pauline (David) Luhring, Frankenmuth; step-brother, Ron (Donna) Hildner, Mesa, Arizona; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen Rummel, Frankenmuth; Janice (Robert) Lach, Freeland; Joyce (Pat) Payne, Ponte Vedra, Florida; and Jerry (Debra) Robishaw, St. Augustine, Florida; many nieces, nephews and their families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, George Rummel, and his step-father, Arthur Hildner. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss, Saginaw. Rev. Charles Buckhahn will officiate with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
