Christopher "Chris" Thomas Hoffman of Bridgeport, Michigan
Beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at his home. He was 32 years old. Christopher Thomas Hoffman was born on September 23, 1986 in Saginaw to Thomas M. and Mary Anne (Clark) Hoffman. He was a 2005 graduate of Bridgeport High School where he played football and was involved with the Golden Gloves. Following graduation, he attended Delta College. In 2008 he proudly enlisted into the United States Marines Corps serving both stateside and in Japan. Chris was honorably discharged in 2012 where he received many awards and accommodations. He was currently employed by Prince Technologies with Nexteer; but had previously worked in the IT Department for six years at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. Chris enjoyed listening to music and playing pool, especially participating on his pool league. He enjoyed snowboarding both upstate and in Switzerland with his sister-in-law, Camille. Chris will forever be remembered for his big heart, his selflessness to all people, and for truly having the most beautiful soul one could ever encounter.
Surviving are his parents, Thomas and Mary Anne Hoffman of Bridgeport; a brother, Dr. Thomas J. (Camille) Hoffman, Ph.D. of Neiderlenz, Switzerland; one niece, Lucille Hoffman; a nephew, Victor Hoffman; two grandmothers, Theresa Clark of Carrollton and Marilyn Jean Hoffman of Saginaw; aunts and uncles, Tim (Laurie) Hoffman, Susan (Dave) Wernecke and Marty (Rose) Howard; and a good friend, Matt Weigandt. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Delbert Hoffman and Albert Clark and an uncle, Mark Clark.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State Street, Bridgeport, Michigan, 48722. Pastor Ron Sinclair will officiate. Military honors will follow under the auspices of the American Legion Post #439. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In Lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the the Hoffman Family c/o Mary Anne Hoffman or Bridgeport Community Church.
