Catherine S. Lara

Lara, Catherine S. Saginaw, Michigan Loving mother and grandmother passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the age of 73 years. The daughter of the late Simon and Josephine (Ramirez) Salcedo was born on May 31, 1942 in Saginaw. She married Ferdinand Lara on January 18, 1964; he predeceased her on April 2, 2012. Catherine was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, shopping and going out to eat. Catherine loved music and dancing . She is survived by her children: Patricia Lara, Linda Vences, granddaughter: Angelique, Marissa, Mercedes, Araceli, great-grandson Marcelino, her siblings Jesse Salcedo, Carlos Salcedo, Angelo Salcedo, Mario Salcedo, Tony Salcedo, Elizabeth Rasmussen, Margaret Salcedo, many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Angie Lara; three brothers, Simon, Frank and George Salcedo; and one sister, Josephine Rico. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at St. Dominic Catholic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church, 4735 W. Michigan, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of Mass. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery.
