Passed away Thursday November 26, 2020 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation at the age of 95 years. Carlena was born November 30, 1924 in Vassar, Michigan, the daughter of the late Carl and Fay (Nalley) Armstrong.
She married John F. Gorte June 1, 1946 and he predeceased her May 27, 1994. Carlena was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Saginaw. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital and St Lukes Hospital retiring in 1966.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law; Judy F. (Richard) Sian; five grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; a brother Charles W, Armstrong; several nieces and nephews.
Carlena was predeceased by two sons; John Gorte and Douglas Gorte; two brothers and two sisters; Carl Armstrong, Harold Armstrong, Elva Delora Armstrong and LaVern Talik.
A graveside service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 N. Center Rd. Saginaw, Michigan 48638
