Carl Leo Bluemer

Carl Leo Bluemer Merrill, Michigan Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Cartwright Hospice on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the age of 91 years. Carl was born on October 7, 1923 to the late Henry and Laura (Kade) Bluemer. He married Phyllis Jean Trinklein on October 15, 1949; she predeceased him on November 18, 2014 after 65 years of marriage. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Bluemer worked their family farm. Carl was also employed by Dow Corning and was a World War II Veteran. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Iva. Surviving are a son, two daughters and their spouses, Richard and Judy Bluemer, Merrill, MI; Kathy and Steve McNally, Saginaw, MI; Laura and Ken Schian, Freeland, MI; grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and Pat Netzley; Courtney and Mike Schiller; Lindsay McNally; Jay and Holly McNally; Nathan and Melinda McNally; Aaron and Amber McNally; his great grandchildren, Reilie, Easton, Michaela, Shelby, Jason, Merissa, Jordan, Jayce, Lacey and Ayden; two sisters-in-law: Lois Spindler, Joan Trinklein, two brothers-in-law: Stafford (June) Trinklein, Peter Boos, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Phyllis, Carl was predeceased by a sister Clara (Albert) Diener, two brothers: Norm (Evelyn) Bluemer, Ervin (Dorothy) Bluemer, two sisters-in-law: Edith (Jake) Schanhals, Nada Boos, and two brothers-in-law: Tom (Dorothy) Trinklein and Don Spindler. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Rd. Hemlock. Rev. Paul A. Hauser will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and then at the Church on Wednesday from Noon until the time of the funeral service.
