Beatrice Ann Purkis (Finger) Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Friday, September 13, 2013. Age 89 years. Beatrice was born July 2, 1924 and was a lifelong resident of Saginaw. She worked at Michigan Bell Telephone until the time of her marriage. She met and later married Robert Purkis, February 26, 1949. He preceded her in death in the year 2000 after 51 years of marriage. She leaves a daughter, two sons and their wives, Debra Purkis; David and Nancy Purkis, all of Saginaw, MI; Dennis and Linda Purkis, Clare, MI; a granddaughter and her husband, Amy Lynn and Mike Meyer, Portage, MI; two great grandchildren, Reese and Brady; several nieces and nephews. Beatrice was the daughter of the late Margaret (Schroeder) and Rudolf Finger and was also predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Ittner, Gladys Jahn and Irene Leedke. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. William Brassow will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday.
