Join us in celebrating Augie's life as he went home to heaven on March 29, 2017. Augie was in his 98th year. He was born September 9, 1919 in Jeanette, Pennsylvania to the late Augustine and Susanne (Turek) Klement. He married Ruth Borchard on June 6, 1942 and together they celebrated almost 75 years of marriage. He served with the US Army during WWII. He was a master printer and owned and operated Klement Press, Inc. for over 70 years. Augie had a deep faith in God and was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth where he sang in the choir. For over 30 years, he served on the Board of Control at Michigan Lutheran Seminary. He was an avid Michigan State fan and had season football tickets for over 50 years. Augie enjoyed golf and spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife, Ruth, are his children and their spouses, Donna and Rev. Ronald Semro, Angleton, Texas; Gerald and Cheryl Klement, Saginaw; Ruth Ann and Sam Izzat, Saginaw; Bonnie and Mike Schultz, Bay City; Karen and Sparky Thomas, Hemlock; his grandchildren, Rev. Jonathan (Susan) Semro, Tim (Heather) Semro, Elizabeth (Steven) Patterson, Becky (Jon) Conde, Paul (Tammy) Gremel, Jodi (Scott) Hagenbach, Nate (Catheren) Izzat, Noah (Kristi) Izzat, Dr. Benjamin Izzat, Jonah Izzat, Joshua (Lissa) Bannerman, Justin (Tanya) Bannerman, Jordan (Sarah Walter) Bannerman, Jenna (Matt) Wardlow, Jake (Erica) Thomas, Kyle Thomas, Sean (Jessica) Thomas; many great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; one brother, Earl (Barb) Klement; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank Klement, Lillian Bittner, Ethel Piechotte, Evelyn Ribble and George Klement. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 5051 McCarty Road, Saginaw, MI 48603, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., from 4:00 7:00 p.m. Monday. They may then call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
