Arvids Liepa

Liepa, Arvids Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Friday, August 29, 2014, at his home, at the age of 87 years. He was born June 20, 1927, in Latvia, the son of the late Mikelis and Kersta Liepa. He had been employed by General Motors retiring in 1992. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He married Shirley Ann Czowski on February 18, 1957; she predeceased him December 3, 2007. He served in the U.S. Army. Surviving are five children and their spouses, Harvey Liepa, Toledo, Ohio; Cindy and Richard Prottenger, Burt, Michigan; Randy and Peggy Liepa, Livonia, Michigan; Donney and Jodi Liepa, Canton, Michigan; Tracy and John Willette, Sterling Heights, Michigan; twelve grandchildren, Harvey Jr., Erin, Kelsey, Christopher, Stevie Ray, Megan, Nicky, Danny, Alexis, Samantha, Will, John Thomas; one great-grandchild, Isiah Liepa. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Mikelis Liepa Jr. and John Liepa. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where his family will receive friends from 12:00 noon Sunday until the time of service. Rev. Susan Hand will officiate.
