Arthur Willis Gath

Gath, Arthur Willis Merrill, Michigan Passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 due to injuries received in an accident, age 53 years. Arthur was born in Bad Cannstadt, (Stuttgart), Germany May 12, 1961. Born to Karla (DeCaleuwe) and the late Arthur Gath. Art loved hunting, playing horseshoes and living life to the fullest. He was an outgoing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son, who will be missed by all. He is survived by his son, Arthur "Billy" Gath (Christine Jensen); his daughter, Crystal Gath; two granddaughters, Emilee and Alyssa, all of Muskegon; his mother, Karla Gath, Merrill; his grandmother, Elsbeth "Oma" Hoff, Germany; two brothers, Richard (Ruth Anne) Gath and Michael Gath (Deb Visnaw); a sister, Victoria (Ryan) Heath; his nieces and nephews, Chastity, Brian, Cody, Chelsea, Ricque, Nicole, Logan and Alivia; many special friends including his best friend, Jeff Broughton. In addition to his father, Art was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Todd Ward. The funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at W. L. Case & Company, Merrill, MI. Rev. Mitch Vogeli will officiate with burial in Marion Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel Monday from 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 9:00 p.m. and at the chapel on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time of the service.
