Alvina G. Kunitzer

Went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2019 at the age of 93 years. The daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret (VanBurnt) Bell was born on February 28, 1926 in Pontiac, MI. She married Ernest Kunitzer on October 5, 1946; he predeceased her on December 13, 2006. Alvina worked for Farm Bureau Credit Union and retired from SunQuest Travel Agency. She had also owned a dress shop in Newaygo when she was younger. She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Alvina enjoyed caring for others in need, often cooking for them and spending her time lending a loving hand. She most especially cherished spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Sue Litchfield, daughter-in-law Carol Kunitzer, two grandchildren: Megan (Brad) Jacobs, Ryan (Mary) Kunitzer, three great-grandchildren: Kate Jacobs, Grant Jacobs, Molly Kunitzer, her siblings: Shirley Smith, Gerald (Joan) Bell, Rose Roggow, Ron (Dianne) Roggow, Al Roggow and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Alvina was predeceased by her son Kenneth Kunitzer, her brother-in-law Gordon Smith and her step-mother, Emma Bell. The family would like to thank the staff at Wellspring Lutheran Services for the excellent care they gave Alvina. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2019 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss St. Rev. Michael Korte will officiate with private burial at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
