Alice Marie Briggs

Passed away Saturday, December 18, at St. Frances Home. Age 101.

Alice, daughter of Richard and Therese (nee De Norre) van de Pontseele, was born July 27, 1920, in Lakefield Township, Michigan. She married Frank W. Briggs on March 8, 1941.
She was a homemaker and later worked as a waitress. She and her husband owned and operated a farm in Lakefield Township. Alice was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church.
Her husband and three sisters predeceased her. Surviving are four daughters, Virginia Briggs; Shirley Gerding; Beverly Briggs; Janet Pepe; four grandchildren, Christopher Cantu; Laura Pluskis; Stephanie Garrett, and Sara Soria; nine great grandchildren; one niece, one nephew, and several grand nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road with Rev. Philomena Ofori-Nipaah officiating with burial at Lakefield Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Second Presbyterian Church, St. Jude's Hospital for Children, the American Heart Association. The family requests all visitors wear masks and social distance for the visitation.
