Alice Loretta Byron Merrill, Michigan Passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Covenant-Harrison. Age 98 years. The daughter of the late Etta (Hutt) and Paul DeGuise was born September 29, 1920 in Flint, Michigan. She married Donald Byron, January 25, 1941. He passed away November 27, 2009. Alice was a member of St. John XXIII, Sacred Heart Church, Merrill, MI. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Maureen (Richard) Marsh, Gary Byron, James (Sally) Byron, Marietta (Michael) Coleman and Dion (Carol) Byron; twelve grandchildren, Carrie, Kelly and R. Michael Marsh; Ian, Shaun and James Byron; Christopher, Michelle and Trevor Coleman; Kyle, Shayla and Darby Byron; nine great-grandchildren, Lucas, Ashley, Spencer, Colin, Cassidy, Connor, Landen, Taeton and Jackson; a sister, Bonnie Smythe; a sister-in-law, Virginia DeGuise; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and a brother, Pauline Lamb, Joseph DeGuise and Doris Houston. The funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at St. John XXIII, Sacred Heart Church, in Merrill, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, in Merrill from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and then at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral service.
