Staff Directory


Michael J. Schuknecht is a life-long resident of Saginaw.  He is a 1972 graduate of Saginaw High School and a 1976 graduate of Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science, becoming a licensed funeral following his graduation.  Mike joined the W. L. Case and Company firm in 1990.



Brad W. Schuknecht was born in Saginaw.   He is a 1982 graduate of Freeland High School and a 1988 graduate of Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science.  Brad acquired his license as a funeral director in 1988.  After beginning his career as a licensed funeral director in Arizona, Brad returned to Michigan and has been with Case’s since 1998.



Brad D. Balderstone was born in Saginaw and is a 1986 graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School.  He acquired his professional skills and training at Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, graduating in 1991 and achieving his funeral director’s license at that time.  Brad joined W. L. Case & Company in 2000.



John C. Tapley was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and became a naturalized U. S. citizen in 1970.  He is a 1965 graduate of Hoover High School in San Diego, CA and obtained his professional training at Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, graduating in 1983.   A licensed funeral director since 1984, John joined W. L. Case in 2003.



Valerie A. Rettelle was born and raised in Bay City.  She is a 1998  graduate of Bay City Central High School. After serving our country in the United States Navy, Valerie obtained her professional training at Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science, graduating in 2003. She joined W. L. Case &  Company in 2004, completing her apprenticeship and then acquiring her license in 2005.
