- Saginaw, Michigan - Passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Covenant – Cooper. Age 82 years. He was born April 27, 1927, in Saginaw, the son of the late Marie (Mai, Glanz) and David Allen Reisig. He graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1945. He had been employed by General Motors Grey Iron Foundry, where he had been a foreman in the core room, retiring after 35 years of service. He later was employed by W. L. Case & Company for over eighteen years. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Second and Federal Streets. He had been very active in Scouting during his sons’ earlier years, and served as Troop Leader for Pack 19, Boy Scouts of America. He loved the Detroit Tigers. He married Donna M. Guest on October 23, 1948; she predeceased him October 24, 2007. Surviving are two sons and their wives, David and Barbara Reisig; Randy and Christina Reisig; all of Saginaw; four grandchildren, Michelle Scott, Brad Reisig and his wife Adrianne, Renae Reisig and Matt Reisig; three great-grandsons, Tyler, Dylan, Logan; one sister, Esther Crowley; several nieces and nephews and their families; and by his beloved dog, Bailey. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers, Marie Hamp, Tillie Schultz, Theresa Kohler, Frieda Shillaire, Peter, Victor and Alexander (Al) Glance; and by a special nephew, Jack Glance and his wife Hannah. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where his family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and then on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Paulette Cummings will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
