- Napoleon, Ohio, formerly of Bridgeport, Michigan - Passed away early Saturday, February 06, 2010, at the Vancrest Nursing Home in Holgate, Ohio. Age 91 years. He was born May 16, 1918 in Riga, Latvia, the son of the late Augusts and Marija (Sautins) Auzins. He married Emmy Hofmann on December 24, 1948; she survives him. He had been employed as a blacksmith at General Motors Grey Iron Foundry, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. Mr. and Mrs. Auzins moved to Ohio ten years ago. Surviving besides his wife Emmy, he also leaves one son, Edvins J. (Barbara) Auzins, Napoleon, OH; one daughter, Alexandra (Ronald) Fick, Livingston, MT; four grandchildren, Melanie, James, Aaron, Amanda; one sister, Marta Shafer, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by a brother, Janis Auzins. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Home, 5700 Dixie Highway, where his family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rev. William W.
