- Saginaw, MI - Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away suddenly on Monday, February 1, 2010. Age 77 years. The son of the late Timothy C. and Dorothy (Hess) Edinger was born on June 9, 1932 in Omer, Michigan. He married Kathleen Bordeau on November 22, 1952, she survives him. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Richard retired from Fisher Body in Flint after 37 years of service. He was a member of a VFW post in Flint, the Eagles Club, and the Saginaw Field and Stream. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, hunting, quad riding and snowmobiling. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a loving man, and was always there for his family and friends. Surviving besides his wife of 57 years are 4 children and their spouses; David Edinger, Denice (Curtis Sr.) Cody, DeeAnn (James) Hartman, Dean (Tammy) Edinger; eight grandchildren and their spouses; Curtis (Sheri) Cody, Jr., Richard (Kimberly) Cody, Dustin Cody, Amanda Cody, Jennifer Hartman(Christopher) Kenzie, Jeffrey Hartman, Joshua Edinger, Trevor Edinger; five great-grandchildren; Tyler Cody, Kayla Cody, Travis Cody, Alexis Cody, Cayden Cody; his siblings Lawrence (Mary) Edinger, Leona Bukowski, Anzy (Raymond) Milkie, Eldina (Paul) Shoenhardt, close friends Bud and Linda Ray and his beloved pets Pesty the cat and Dandy the dog. He was predeceased by a dear brother-in-law Lawrence Bordeau and also his brother-in-law Thomas Bukowski. Funeral service will take place at 11:00a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at W.L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Hwy. Rev. William Hessler will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
