- Saginaw, Michigan - On Thursday, January 28, 2010, in His infinite love and wisdom, with all her family by her side, God chose to call His true and faithful servant, Marjorie Ann Haar at the age of 88 to her heavenly home. Marjorie Giessel was born in Saginaw, Michigan December 23, 1921 the daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Schwartz) Giessel. She married Edward Haar August 18, 1945. He predeceased her November 2, 1986. She was a life long member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1940. She had worked for Dr. Kleekamp for many years. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother enjoyed cooking and being with her family, going to Marco Island and up north. Her eyes always lit up, which was every day and night, when she was with her dear grandson, Austin, who devoted his whole life to her and took such good care of her. Marjorie is survived by her two daughters, Hedy (William) Martin and Lori (Steven) Schneider; six grandchildren, Melanie (Erick) Hathaway, William (Shannon) Martin III, Danielle (Anthony) Premo, Andrew Martin, Anna Schneider and Austin Schneider; five great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Aleigh Premo, Madison, William IV and Preston Martin; four sisters-in-law, Sue Giessel, Esther Sparling, Sharon (Bob) Ruppel and Carolyn Everett; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Marjorie was predeceased by three siblings, Willard Giessel, Dorothy Kretschmer and Gladys Giessel. The funeral service will take place 12:00 noon Monday, February 1, 2010 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Court & Bond Streets. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
