- Saginaw, Michigan - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Saginaw Senior Care Center at the age 85 years. The daughter of the late George and Anna (Forrest) Duby was born on March 14, 1924 in Saginaw. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She married Donald Schmidt in 1947, he survives her. Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter Carol Kime; granddaughter, Devin Mae Kime; siblings, George (Carol) Duby Jr., Sally (Tom) Purdue and Agnes (Wayne) Raquepaw; special sister-in-law, Leah Duby; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Iverne Duby and Gene Hutchinson; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Spicey. She was predeceased by her son Dennis Lee Schmidt; daughter, Linda Kaye Schmidt; and siblings, Gertrude Hutchinson, Kenneth Duby and Gordon Duby. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Saginaw Senior Care for the wonderful care they provided to Evelyn. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, at Second Presbyterian Church at 2665 Midland Rd. Rev. James Neumann will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
