- Saginaw, Michigan - Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Luther Manor at the age of 76 years. Joseph was born December 5, 1933, in Saginaw to the late Clarence and Eva (Lavanger) Whitman. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from General Motors. He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Warriner) Whitman; children, Heidi Whitman, Delores Whitman and Joseph (Jennifer) Whitman Jr.; Taylor, Caleb, Josh and James; his siblings and many other family members. Funeral services will take place at 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at W.L. Case & Company 5700 Dixie Hwy. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with entombment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of VFW Post #1859 in Carrollton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
