- Saginaw, Michigan - Passed away at Caretel Inns on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at the age of 92 years. Thomas Bussinger was born January 23, 1917, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Eugene and Ella (Tyrer) Bussinger. He married Madeline Delemeester on June 5, 1937, and she survives him. He served in the United States Navy Seabees during World War II. He was thereafter employed by Saginaw Steering Gear for 38 years, retiring in 1972. Thomas was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Charles, the American Legion Post 22, the VFW 5695, the Polish Falcons and the Eagles. In addition to his spouse, Thomas is survived by two sons, Charles (Roxana) Bussinger and Richard Bussinger; 6 grandchildren, Mark, Dale, Scott (Sandy) and James Bussinger, Tamara Wheatley and DeeAnn (Joshua) Iles;10 great-grandchildren, 2 great, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a sister, Jeanne Cairnes. His daughter-in-law, Patricia Bussinger, a brother, Louis Bussinger, and two sisters, Helen Jordan and Grace Rieger, predeceased him. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 708 Sanderson, St. Charles. Rev. Fr. Todd Arnberg will officiate with military burial under the auspices of American Legion Post 22 in Riverside Cemetery, St. Charles. Friends may call at the Case Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
