Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Thursday, November 5, 2008 at St. Mary’s of Michigan following a lengthy illness. Age 77 years.
Ronald W. Vogel was born October 18, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Daniel and Nina (Carter) Vogel. He married Jessie Lemon August 22, 1953, she survives him. He served in the U.S. Air force as a Radar Operator and was very patriotic. He was a member of the Gideon’s and that organization and its members were very dear to him. Ron was a devoted family man with unending love for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He also had the devotion of many friends and neighbors and he will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-five years. Jessie Vogel, Saginaw; four children, Gregory (Gayla) Vogel, Edwardsburg; Brenda Tumosa, San Diego, CA; Keith (Sheri) Vogel, Stevensville; Todd (Patti) Vogel, Holt; his grandchildren who were the lights of his life, Hilary Vogel, Tommy Tumosa, Natalie Vogel, Nicholas Vogel; his step-granddaughter, Shelli (Scott) Knoll; his great-grandchildren, Tony, Tawni and China, His brother-in-law who he thought of as a brother Bob Lemon; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Charles Lemon will officiate with Military Burial under the Auspices of American Legion Post #439 in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Funeral Chapel 201 N. Miller Road, Friday, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and then on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Gideon’s or Grace Baptist Church.
