Obituary

Our loving father went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was reunited with the love of his life, Mary, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He was 88 years old. Philip was born on May 1, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Philip and Mary (Clauss) Daubert. He held the 1948 state record for pole vault with Arthur Hill High School, graduating that year as well. Following graduation, Philip attended and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Center Michigan University. While studying at Central he became involved with the gymnastics team. Philip worked for the Saginaw School District and retired from Arthur Eddy School in 1990. Throughout his career he taught both art and mathematics. He also coached track, football and basketball. He was an avid Horticulturist and enjoyed working in his yard. Philip was a faithful member of Faith Fellowship Church in St. Charles and was a devout Christian using his artistic ability to build the sets for plays at Resurrection Lutheran Church.

He will be missed by his three children, Sally (Dave) Frollo, Bradley (Bev) Daubert and Alice (Ken) Byron; nine grandchildren, David (Michelle) Frollo, Angelique Frollo and her fiancé Brett Gunsalus, Bradley (Tiffiny) Daubert, Philip Daubert, Lisa (Walter) Zaleski, Matthew Byron, Joshua Byron, Amy (Chris) Lewis and Hannah Byron and her fiancé, Kevin Thaler; 10 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Daniel Frollo, Logan and Jacob Snook, Dylan Ratcliffe, Zophia, Zachary and Zoelee Zaleski and Kacey and Madalyn Lewis; two sisters and two brothers, Dorothy McCollum, Betty Thompson, James “Joe” Daubert and Roy Belill; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers, Annie Martin, Robert Daubert, Adam Daubert and Ed “Butch” Belill.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Faith Fellowship Church, 5825 S. Graham in St. Charles. Pastor Mark Farmer will officiate. Burial will follow in Richland Township Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Faith Fellowship Church.
