Obituary

McNally, Marilyn S.
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 9, 2018, at the age of 83 years.
Marilyn Sue Wilson was born July 13, 1934, in Greenville, Michigan, the daughter of the late Howard and Luella (Mount) Wilson. She graduated from Greenville High School with the Class of 1952, and later received her nursing degree from Mercy Central Central School of Nursing (St. Mary’s Hospital), in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas McNally, on November 26, 1955, in Greenville. They made their home in Saginaw shortly after, where Marilyn was employed as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital. She left nursing for a time to raise her children. When she returned to nursing, she was employed by General Motors Corporation at various plants, worked as a hospice nurse/volunteer, helped to open Med Express in Saginaw Township, and initiated a blood pressure clinic at Zauel Memorial Library. Marilyn had been an active member at Second Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She sang in the church choir, was a member of its Women’s Circle Bible study group, and belonged to various other committees. She lists among her accomplishments being a good wife to her husband, Tom, raising her three children, being a great mother-in-law, and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to needlepoint. Marilyn also loved her pets, including her dogs, Rusty, Scruffy, Kelly, Honnie Girl, and her cat, Daisy Cat.
Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Zeitler, Saginaw; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Rhonda McNally, Broomfield, Colorado; her daughter-in-law, Sheryl and her husband John Usher; five grandchildren, Brianne (Adam) Claus, Kevin (Paige) McNally, Tyler McNally (fiancée Holly Smith), Joseph McNally, and Jason Zeitler; three great-grandchildren, Daniel Claus, Elizabeth “Libby” Claus, and Lydia McNally; several nieces, nephews and their families; and her beloved caretaker and friend, Kim Larson.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Daniel McNally, her son-in-law, Nicholas Zeitler, and her brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Maxine Wilson.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Road, where her family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service. Rev. James Neumann will officiate. Private committal services will take place later. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Brian’s House or the Humane Society of Saginaw County. Arrangements by W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors. www.casefuneralhome.com
