Sparr, Gerald Paul “Jerry” of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully at his home, on Friday August 31, 2018, with his family by his side. He was 72 years old. Gerald Paul Sparr was born on May 9, 1946 in South Lyon, Michigan to the late Louis and Irene (Koloch) Sparr. He was a proud graduate of Cleary College, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree. Jerry married Cheryl Bradley on June 25, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan; she survives him. Throughout his life Jerry worked as a journeyman toolmaker. He loved and cherished his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for his strong work ethic, his indomitable spirit and for being the best father and grandfather one could imagine.

Surviving are his three children: Gerald Paul (Kathy) Sparr of Byron, Michigan, and their children: Amanda Joyce (Randy) Joslin of Byron, Matthew Earl Sparr of Byron, Andrew Paul Sparr of Byron and Abigail Mae Sparr of Byron; Jennifer Nicole (Steven) Goodpaster of Colorado Springs, CO and their children: Allison Marie Goodpaster of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, Steven William Goodpaster of the U.S. AirForce Academy in Colorado Springs, CO and William Goodpaster of Colorado Springs, CO; Patrick Matthew Sparr of Columbiaville, MI and his children: Timothy Ezekiel Sparr of Columbiaville and Samuel Patrick Sparr of Columbiaville; and a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Thomas and Delia Jennings of Locust Grove, VA.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Earl A Bradley.
